The RV

Dethleffs A8000 XXL

October 2011.

That's it, we've found KIFONS

I get back in touch by email with Virginie and Alexis (the CLAVENTURE family), who are supposed to be in Africa with their 3 kids, because I need their expert advice.
I get an answer from them in less than 5 minutes. They came back to France earlier than planned.
An hour later, I'm invited over to their place.
2 hours later, I've fallen in love with their RV.
That very evening, I put our LAIKA Kreos 3002 up for sale, and it finds a buyer within the week.
Two weeks later, we're the proud owners of a heavy-duty RV (of course, we don't have the truck driver's license for it), fully loaded, and with a nice adventure story already behind it.
KIFONS left France in 2010 and has already traveled the roads of Australia, Southeast Asia and Africa.
KIFONS is a 2007 Dethleffs A 8000 XXL RV with 46,600 miles on the odometer (not much at all, considering we're talking about a heavy-duty vehicle).

Dream measurements (not too big, not too small for an 18-month journey):
Length: 8.48 m (27.8 ft) - Width: 2.35 m (7.7 ft) - Height: 3.45 m (11.3 ft)

A reliable, proven IVECO heavy-duty chassis.
A 3-liter, 180 hp engine.
Rear-wheel drive with dual rear wheels.
The rear suspension is reinforced and raised.
The rear part of the chassis has also been modified.

The investment is bigger than planned, but the kids will each have their own bed. That was one of the things Maggy wanted.
