A trip around the Americas

How it all started

September 2005.

I run the company ...Faire Savoir!, which I founded in 1998.
My twins (Alexandre and Juliette) are 8 months old.
The company is clearly a success.
The national leader in information systems for tourism professionals, ...Faire Savoir! keeps growing almost arrogantly.
The only catch: I see my kids one evening a week, I work 15 hours a day, I drive 56,000 miles a year, and the woman I love is turning into a roommate.
Apparently, I've made it in life... But I'm just missing out on my own...

December 2005.

It's decided.

I want to refocus on what really matters. My wife, my kids, my family, my friends.
When I started my business in 1998, I set myself the goal of leaving that first adventure by age 30.
I'm 29. So I have 12 months left to sell the company...

November 30, 2006.

It's done.

12 months of negotiations. 12 months during which I came to understand the pressure of the financial world.
12 months to prepare for what comes next.
The company is sold. I'm happy that night. I've got my freedom back.
I've wanted to travel ever since I was little. Now I just have to convince Maggy.

April 2012.

6 years.

6 years to let the project ripen.
6 years to let the kids grow up. Juliette and Alexandre will be 7 by then. As for Alice, she'll have just blown out her first 5 candles.
Maggy will be pushing 35. As for me, I'll be 36.
It's the right timing.

6 years to make the decision to travel around the world.
